March VGC Report Part 2

Hi guys today I am back with another post, this time I will be taking through the rest of my experience regarding VGC in this time, lets get into it: Teambuilding Post Internationals: Shoma Honami’s team variant won the Melbourne internationals and it gave rise to more things like drifblim + tapu lele combination that happens to be very popular in this format. I didn’t felt like I had a good starting point but starting out on a new team I had a few things in my mind. Tapu koko + Raichu, Mismagius + Snorlax as a variation of that mimilax leads, another combination and pokemon I tried out was porygon z I was amazed by its raw offensive potential and what its offense held, originally I was using weavile to help for setup alongside porygon z, also to use throat chop, to stop snarl users. Originally some tests made me think that having multiple combinations as well as an offensive style of team was working really well! I did notice some clear flaws, hariyama wasn’t a good matchup I

Smeargle Used Spotlight 8 : Xurkitree

Hi guys today I am back with another installment on the series of smeargle used spotlight, first of all I would recall of y absence from this series as I felt like the format got more sturdy and complex to say welcome to all the new options on the dex so I waited a bit to get some rarely/never used pokemons that can be effective. Today I bring to you a pokemon that is rarely seen in use, it is not exactly a part of the metagame but a team that is weak to it can face the consequences of not having this pokemon checked, something that also recently got a top cut finish in a regional championships. And something I used and testing out in this month, it is the Xurkitree: *Insert Dancing Tree here* ·          Being one of the most used pokemon in the starting point of the metagame, its usage has decreased due to a whole lot of reasons like garchomp, marowak and the increasing general bulk of this format, however this doesn’t mean that xurkitree cannot be useful against anything in

Smeargle Used Spotlight 7 : Drifblim

Hi guys today I am back with another installment on the series of smeargle used spotlight, first of all I would recall of y absence from this series as I felt like the format got more sturdy and complex to say welcome to all the new options on the dex so I waited a bit to get some rarely/never used pokemons that can be effective. Today I bring to you a pokemon that is rarely seen in use, mainly popularized by being on James Baek’s Battle Spot series, as well as getting a top 4th placement in the Anaheim regionals, Drifblim. Now you will notice that I am changing up the format on how I used to do these types of post, instead of going in the extremes of detail I felt it would be much more useful if I would explain the points of viability of the pokemons that I present which makes it easier for me to make the post as well as easier for the reader to get the main highlights of why was something given the smeargle’s spotlight: ·          Drifblim gets the statline of 150 HP / 80

Predicting Melbourne Internationals.

Hi guys today I am back with kind of a different post, this weekend as we all know would be the Melbourne, 2 nd International Championships of the 2017 VGC season, last one was the London Internationals, stirred the metagame by a lot, now I am here to present my own view as well as give a prediction on what metagame it may bring, without further discussing the content, lets get into this post: In Comparison To London Internationals: London Internationals made a big stir in the metagame of this season, with things like leech seed celesteela dominating, there were a lot of surprises like the dominance of gastrodon as well as some teams including gigalith, araquanid became a thing as well as kartana was picking up a lot of popularity after that internationals. However this time it will be much different. The reason for that in my opinion would have to be that in London there barely was a metagame to follow upto, the best and the finest metagame choices were brought out by the bi

March VGC Report : Part 1 Triple Ultra Beasts

Hey guys today I am back with an old style of posts that I have been doing for this entire season of VGC, the monthly report I have had it preplanned to make this report into two parts first one comprising of the Melbourne internationals upto data whereas the second one will be about my rest of experience in VGC during this month and probably won’t be much of it as I will be busy in studies, for most of it. Without further ado lets get into this month’s report. Concluding Major Regionals: Some right in the start of this month we did had two major and officially live streamed pokemon regionals first one was the Sheffield regionals and the other was the St. Louis regionals streamed on the pokemon livestream, both the regionals had some very interesting teams, mainly they included the metagame parts, there was a significant and interesting rise of pokemons like tapu bulu as well as magnezone in the Sheffield regionals whereas in the st.louis two aerodactyl ls made it into the top c
