I have fallen in love with using this team, the overall premise was to combine the indeedee + drimblim combination with the hyper offense of rain. Hyper offense is a style that I have always done well with in the past and seeing a fresh new format where almost everyone is experimenting and there is no specificity in calculation and ev spreads, I figure going this route would be the best.
Indeedee + drimblim is a combination that works similar to older formats of VGC where this combination was being used with tapu lele + drifblim. Providing drifblim’s unburden ability alongside psychic seed and indeedee setting up the psychic terrain, you get a deadly lead combination with loads to coverage to deal damage or simply set up a tailwind for the team members in the back. Indeedee was given choice specs to further increase its damage output, I chose not to put hyper voice on it, as it despite being a very strong pokemon isn’t, the strongest, especially when considering the amount of coverage it has, you really want to keep the fairy, grass and fire coverage ready to be used. Drifblim is standard but with thunder, I figured it provided great coverage on a format that has many pelliper and gyarados running around and does well with the rain in the back.
Indeedee’s psychic terrain alongside the new speed mechanics allow you to set up a tailwind almost before all pokemon, minus prankster tailwind from whimsicott obviously, you can make indeedee really fast as well to go before anything and hit with a very valuable and strong attack. This lead also helps to get rid of dracovish and its fishious rend.
There have been times where I have dmax’d my indeedee after turn one where it is locked into a move, but I really could use the other move’s coverage in this turn. For example knocking out a dracovish with a specs psychic, but then hydreigon is sent out, here I’d dmax and go for max starfall to ohko the hydreigon.
Pelliper + ludicolo:
A pretty standard rain lead… in the earlier version this was barraskewda alongside pelliper, but seeing the buffs ludicolo has now especially with dynamax I’d rather use this mon. I tried to be a bit fun with its moveset and went for surf to help out toxicroak as well as the absorb bulb strategy on the side. Ludicolo now gaining the move leaf storm is also a great thing for it, transforming ice beam into max hailstorm in sticky situations of a game is also going to get you out of some sticky situations.
Pelliper is as standard as it gets with brine and surf, for better damage output and then activating absorb bulb, also now that I don’t have barraskewda’s propeller tail, using surf to bypass sotrm drain is also going to be valuable.
Rhyperior is a set that I came up with from this genius mind of mine, if I do say so myself. The inspiration behind this set and mon arised from me seeing tons and tons of trick room around and being terrified of the rhyperior + torkoal combination running around especially as this team was extremely speedy I knew I had to counter trick room, with barraskewda I had 3 electric weaknesses. Rhyperior with lightningrod and room service, literally covered all of these threats. Given the hyper offensive nature of this team trick room is seldom set up but I have this beast to carry me through if the situation does arise. I am really happy with how rhyperior sits in with this rain combination and gives the opponents a bit of a twist to deal with. Though I have given up solid rock ability on this mon for aiding my team with lightningrod, its quad weakness is well covered.
Last up is a mon I’d really never use but its there… for dealing super affective damage to dark and steel types on the team. I was looking for a solid fighting coverage mon, scrafty and conkeldur would have made amazing members on any team for this purpose, however, the team already kept a strong looking counter to trick room as aforementioned, toxicroak could partially provide me with the dry skin schenanigans going for it as well as poison coverage for things like ludicolo, hatterene and so on. I might have to look into changing this pokemon slot as its just there right now because I needed a sixth member with x goals, it never gets used much at all, whenever brought it stays in the back for most of the time, given I can’t make the most of my own fake out given indeedee is most of the games.
Overall I think I am really happy with how this random, weird gimmicky looking idea came together like this, especially with how well these two lead combinations merged together and the glue and support rhyperior has going for them… I might as well be using this team throughout the format.

The King of The Jungle: Calyrex Ice Rider VGC Regulation G Team Report

So as Regulation G just dropped, my initial plan was to let the metagame form itself out before I step into the game. However, after seeing some videos on Youtube that discussed popular cores, I got excited to try one of them out, and quite a simple composition too. It worked out quite well for me so here’s a mini team report for those looking to find a team to play the format: I dabbled in this format a bit with a horrid Kyogre team being rounded out with Rillaboom, Incineroar and Farigaraf and fell flat quick. Teambuilding: These Pokémon didn’t really gel together in harmony and there wasn’t much synergy or inspiration to go off of. I did get swept 2x by an Ice Rider Calyrex. Later when I watched a video that mentioned the Trick Room core of Calyrex Ice Rider, Incineroar, Farigaraf and Ursaluna, I felt like it was quite worthy to give it a try. I know from my experience thus far that the majority of dedicated Trick Room teams do work on a sort of flow chart function. Most basical...

CHALK Analyses: A Better Understanding.

Today I’ll be discussing one of the most highly argument’d topic in the VGC 15 season. You already know from the title and I know how late I got all because of my laziness and getting distracted a lot by other things during the time of some holidays I took the time to write up this analyses for you guys, it’s better late than never right? I myself have used CHALK core teams to success and have really liked them, in this post I will cover up analyses on CHALK and other topics that can relate to it, let’s get started: Artwork by @yudeyude123 on twitter =================================================== What is CHALK: This weird looking word is an abbreviation for the words Cresselia, Heatran, Amoonguss, Landorus and Kangaskhan. This is actually a penta-core of mons used at great success in the VGC15 season as most of you are familiar with it, it even won Worlds 2015 in the hands of Shoma Honami (SHADEViera), this trend also originates from his homeland of Japan and many o...

Death by Perish Trap: Teambuild VGC 15

Hi guys i am back with another teambuild post, and sorry for my absense for some time. this time i will be putting forward a team of mine built a long time ago but it still works to this day. i posted it elsewhere to get some advice on it and now it is up to it's full potential and i thought i was ready to post it as a teambuild post on the blog.i finally almost perfected the execution of the trap against the meta. idk why it wasn't up it was completed bout 2 weeks ago though, let's get started with the team: Teambuilding thought and process: as we already know that W olfe Glick is the king of perish trap so my first step was to take his team break it down and then rebuild it up to my playstyle and comfort-ability, i took his regional team tried spotting out weaknesses (there were non :P) and then ended up copying his team couple of times. i decided to build right from the start picking up some notes on his build to take guideline and picked up the following ...
