En Guard!: Teambuild VGC15

Hi guys back with another team of mine which was built a long time ago though. i did wanted to post it over other things but wasn't able to there are still two others teams or so i will probably post before worlds because it is 13th and 21 is closing in. however this team is a sun team with char and venu anyway Let's get started:

The Team:

I started with the idea of a themed team. for this specific team i wanted to run a sun theme, definitely starting with charizard y and then accompanied it with the usual venusaur to abuse the effects of the weather.

Charizard @ Charizardite Y
Ability: Blaze
EVs: 252 HP / 4 Def / 100 SpA / 44 SpD / 108 Spe
Modest Nature
- Flamethrower
- Solar Beam
- Protect
- Focus Blast

i choose a simple 252/252/4 spread for my charizard because i didn't have anything in mind to build for it at first but then GMX of pokemonforever.com pops up and hooks me up with this epic spread, infact he invest 4 into sp.atk i did speed to outspeed breloom by one point and dumped the rest into sp.atk. i choose flamethrower over heatwave to land more damage than a spread move lke heatwave ad late more accurately, in addition not activate any switch in flash fire in VGC. solar beam and protect are obvious, whereas focus blast was used to hunt down heatrans not expecting it, and just did that because today got left against a heatran 3 times loosing the game.

Venusaur @ Life Orb
Ability: Chlorophyll
EVs: 100 HP / 4 Def / 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 148 Spe
Modest Nature
- Energy Ball
- Sludge Bomb
- Protect
- Hidden Power [Ice]

Many people go for the venusaurite on their venusaurs. i didn't do that because i didn't had any strats for mega venusaur after i completed the team, in addition life orb to land more damage on pokemons and also energy ball i prefered over giga drain to deal more damage. sludge bomb was a slot filler whereas HP ice behind chlorophyll OHKO'es any dragons except hydreigon and lando-t. EV spread made to outspeed lando-t after sun and one shot it with HP ice, *if scarfed, only* and don't forget band maximized sp.atk cuz why not and then rest dumped into bulk.

Next I wanted to put something on the team that would cover up the weaknesses of my sun room mode, after some thinking it came to mind that t-flame and rock slides were gonna give me trouble, so the moves quick guard and wide guard were both needed to keep up charizard and venusaur on the field longer. My next goal was to keep pokemons who can use these moves. And basically this is the concept where the team’s name came from, oh yes and it’s cool.

Terrakion @ Focus Sash
Ability: Justified
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Close Combat
- Quick Guard
- Rock Slide
- Protect

Terrakion can do much more than just quick guard, it counters the likes of m-kang, t-flame and opposing charizards. It is such an awesome pokemon, there weren’t many games in which it wasn’t brought. I just love playing it on the team. Focus sash was chosen to survive most attacks and make it safer to play and attack. Terrakion paired up on a team with charizard acts as a decent counter to sand too!. I chose the 252/252/4 spread because nothing else could have been done better with it.

Image result for aegislash
Aegislash @ Lum Berry
Ability: Stance Change
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Atk / 4 SpD
Brave Nature
IVs: 0 Spe
- Shadow Claw
- Iron Head
- King's Shield
- Wide Guard

Up next is my special, well…. Not special physical aegislash, and why? Aegislash is a decent pokemon to deal damage. I thought of this idea a long long time ago. Well a physical aegislash can surely take out any fairies like sylveon in OH and also deal more damage to the usual specially defensive psychic type pokemons. Wide guard was there for obvious reasons mentioned above. The item choice was selected for the reasons that burn and swagger are the things gonna give physical aegislash the most problem which it can’t block. With lum berry swagger turns to advantage and burn is removed.

Image result for thundurus
Thundurus (M) @ Mental Herb
Ability: Prankster
EVs: 252 HP / 84 Def / 4 SpA / 100 SpD / 68 Spe
Bold Nature
- Thunder Wave
- Taunt
- Thunderbolt
- Swagger

Thundurus is basically a chunk of luck that I need to defeat players better than me. Thunder wave and swagger hax others out and swagger over HP ice as two pokemons on the field already have the ice moves to deal with pokemons, in addition I also many times swaggered into my own aegislash to make it +2 at no cost as it recovered back from the lum berry. Now for the item I choose white herb as my item choice, as faster priorities like liepard, whimsicott and even opposing faster thundurus were taunting me before I move. To avoid where speed mattered the most I gave mine white herb to keep its supportive potential going and taunt others back too.

Cresselia @ Expert Belt
Ability: Levitate
Level: 50
EVs: 108 HP / 4 Def / 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 140 Spe
Modest Nature
- Psychic
- Ice Beam
- Moonblast
- Protect

Now comes the last member of this team who is basically all lost in dust. i do know for what and which reasons i choose it over many others. this slot originally when built was swampert to give the team an F/W/G core but it was dropped. i choose and an offensive cress to counter bulky fighting types that i wasn't able to without it. with both moonblast and psychic with expert belt no one could've survived it also gave me a better matchup against hydreigon before or after terrakion. i apologize because the EV spread is literally lost and i can't remember any of it, other than that it was offensive and fast, though i did put up a sketchy cress that i think was used though it isn't accurate.

Conclusion:
So this post again comes to an end here i don't have to conclude much but however it was fun writing and hope you liked it! Bye for now!

The King of The Jungle: Calyrex Ice Rider VGC Regulation G Team Report

So as Regulation G just dropped, my initial plan was to let the metagame form itself out before I step into the game. However, after seeing some videos on Youtube that discussed popular cores, I got excited to try one of them out, and quite a simple composition too. It worked out quite well for me so here’s a mini team report for those looking to find a team to play the format: I dabbled in this format a bit with a horrid Kyogre team being rounded out with Rillaboom, Incineroar and Farigaraf and fell flat quick. Teambuilding: These Pokémon didn’t really gel together in harmony and there wasn’t much synergy or inspiration to go off of. I did get swept 2x by an Ice Rider Calyrex. Later when I watched a video that mentioned the Trick Room core of Calyrex Ice Rider, Incineroar, Farigaraf and Ursaluna, I felt like it was quite worthy to give it a try. I know from my experience thus far that the majority of dedicated Trick Room teams do work on a sort of flow chart function. Most basical

CHALK Analyses: A Better Understanding.

Today I’ll be discussing one of the most highly argument’d topic in the VGC 15 season. You already know from the title and I know how late I got all because of my laziness and getting distracted a lot by other things during the time of some holidays I took the time to write up this analyses for you guys, it’s better late than never right? I myself have used CHALK core teams to success and have really liked them, in this post I will cover up analyses on CHALK and other topics that can relate to it, let’s get started: Artwork by @yudeyude123 on twitter =================================================== What is CHALK: This weird looking word is an abbreviation for the words Cresselia, Heatran, Amoonguss, Landorus and Kangaskhan. This is actually a penta-core of mons used at great success in the VGC15 season as most of you are familiar with it, it even won Worlds 2015 in the hands of Shoma Honami (SHADEViera), this trend also originates from his homeland of Japan and many o

Death by Perish Trap: Teambuild VGC 15

Hi guys i am back with another teambuild post, and sorry for my absense for some time. this time i will be putting forward a team of mine built a long time ago but it still works to this day. i posted it elsewhere to get some advice on it and now it is up to it's full potential and i thought i was ready to post it as a teambuild post on the blog.i finally almost perfected the execution of the trap against the meta. idk why it wasn't up it was completed bout 2 weeks ago though, let's get started with the team: Teambuilding thought and process: as we already know that W olfe Glick is the king of perish trap so my first step was to take his team break it down and then rebuild it up to my playstyle and comfort-ability, i took his regional team tried spotting out weaknesses (there were non :P) and then ended up copying his team couple of times. i decided to build right from the start picking up some notes on his build to take guideline and picked up the following points: .
